We started already one week before the show. We met all together at Blumenhofer to . it was our Dry Run. Here You can read more about what we have been up to at Blumenhofer on their web pages.
Unsere München High End fing schon eine Woche vor der Messe an. Wir haben uns bei Blumenhofer getroffen, um die Messe vorzubereiten. Es war unsere ‘Trockene Übung’. Wir haben viel gelernt und hier, auf die Blumenhofer Webseiten, kann man lesen, was wir in den Tagen gemacht haben.
La nostra fiera del Monaco High End è iniziata ben una settimana prima della fiera stessa. Ci siamo trovati tutti alla Blumenhofer per preparare il sistema. Qui si può leggere quello che abbiamo fatto e quanto abbiamo imparato in quei giorni.

Primo giorno
The first day has not been a real struggle. Quietly starting with a good caffe. We brought the whole material to the venue… the whole? Not really. We were still missing the phono preamp and the turntable. But so far we have been able to setup the system, as we did learn during the dry run days. Distances, cable choices, positioning of the components.
During the dry run we were not happy to have ‘just’ a Genuin FS 1 MK 2. But then this developed to be the right choice. Among companies playing it big and not really good, we were playing it small, but really really cool!
At the end of the day. Italian ham with french wine. A perfect combination :)

Am ersten Tag ist keine echte Herausforderung gewesen. Es fing ruhig mit einem guten Cappuccino an. Wir haben das gesamte Material zur Messe gebracht… aber nicht wirklich alles. Wir hatten immer noch die Phono-Vorstufe und den Plattenspieler vermisst. Aber, bis auf dieses haben wir das System aufgestellt, wie wir in den Dry Run Tage gelernt hatten. Entfernungen, Kabelwahl, Aufstellung der Komponenten.
Am Anfang hätten wir uns etwas mehr wie eine ‘einfache’ Genuin FS 1 MK 2 gewünscht. Aber dann, diese entwickelte sich als die beste Wahl: unter firmen die groß unzufriedenstellend gespielt hatten, haben wir klein, aber wirklich wirklich gut gespielt!
Am Ende des Tages, Italienisches Prosciutto mit Französischem Wein. Ein perfektes zusammenspiel :)

Il primo giorno non è stato un vero dramma. Abbiamo iniziato con un buon caffe. Abbiamo portato tutto il materiale alla fiera… tutto? Non proprio. Mancavano sempre sia il prefono che il giradischi. Ma siamo riusciti, nonostante ciò, a mettere insieme un sistema seguendo quello che avevamo imparato nelle giornate di prova. Distanze, scelta dei cavi, posizionamento delle componenti.
All’inizio avremmo desiderato qualcosa di più di una ‘semplice’ Genuin FS 1 MK 2. Ma poi questa si è rivelata essere la scelta giusta. Tra ditte che suonavano pezzi da novanta in modo insoddisfacente, noi abbiamo portato un pezzo piccolo ma che suonava eccezionalmente bene!
Alla fine del giorno. Prosciutto italiano e vino francese. Una combinazione perfetta :)
All’inizio avremmo desiderato qualcosa di più di una ‘semplice’ Genuin FS 1 MK 2. Ma poi questa si è rivelata essere la scelta giusta. Tra ditte che suonavano pezzi da novanta in modo insoddisfacente, noi abbiamo portato un pezzo piccolo ma che suonava eccezionalmente bene!

Secondo e terzo giorno
On the morning of the second day we were still missing the turntable, first. Then it came and it was not set up. It was like if it were to be built up from scratch. The promised one hour of work developed to be 4. Changing tonearms, finding a big humm after having the whole system set up. A really annoying and loud humm… What to do then.
Well, let’s work: we changed the position of some components of the whole system allowing the whole system to breathe in the proper way. And the humm was suddenly gone, the way it came: big feeling of relief.
After such a day, the best thing is to enjoy the good things around Munich: we drove to Andechs, to have a beer and a typical Schweinshaxe.
On the last day there is only the fine tuning of the system. It must play well: we will stay in these rooms for 4 days nearly continuously, we want it to be perfect.
Well, let’s work: we changed the position of some components of the whole system allowing the whole system to breathe in the proper way. And the humm was suddenly gone, the way it came: big feeling of relief.

Am Anfang des 2. Tages hat der Plattenspieler immer noch gefehlt. Dann kam er, war aber komplett auszurichten. Und es wurde von null aufgerichtet. Wir hatten uns eine Stunde für die Aufstellung erwartet. Erst nach 4 Stunden war aber so weit. Wechsel der Tonarme, ein Humm, ein störender Humm… Wie ist das zu lösen.
An die Arbeit: wir haben einige Komponenten umgestellt, und dadurch hat das ganze System richtig gut geatmet, und abrupt, wie es gekommen ist, ist der Humm auch wieder weg gewesen. An seiner Stelle kam ein Erleichterungsgefühl!
Nach einem solchen Tag, das Beste ist, das Beste von München zu genießen: ab nach Andechs, zum Kloster. Bier und Schweinshaxe.
Am letzten Aufstelltag haben wir nur die Feinjustierung des Systems gemacht: es muß hervorragend spielen, wir sind in diesem Raum für fast 4 Tage, wir wollen die Zeit genießen und es muß dafür perfekt spielen!
An die Arbeit: wir haben einige Komponenten umgestellt, und dadurch hat das ganze System richtig gut geatmet, und abrupt, wie es gekommen ist, ist der Humm auch wieder weg gewesen. An seiner Stelle kam ein Erleichterungsgefühl!

All’inizio del secondo giorno, il giradischi non era ancora arrivato. Poi ci è stato consegnato e non era messo a punto: abbiamo dovuto prepararlo virtualmente da zero. L’ora di lavoro che ci aspettavamo si è estesa a più di 4 ore. Abbiamo cambiato i braccetti, siamo stati afflitti da un ronzio troppo forte ed insistente… cosa fare?
Beh, al lavoro: abbiamo cambiato la posizione di alcuni componenti del sistema ed abbiamo permesso in questo modo a tutto l’impianto di respirare come si deve. Ed improvvisamente com’è arrivato il ronzio è anche sparito. Al suo posto: un piacevole sollievo.
Dopo una tale giornata, la cosa migliore è stato di goderci il meglio che Monaco ha da offrire: siamo andati ad Andechs a goderci una birra ed un meritatissimo stinco di maiale.
L’ultimo giorno lo abbiamo speso solo per mettere a punto il sistema. Deve suonare bene: staremo in queste stanze continuativamente per 4 giorni, dobbiamo divertirci noi, deve suonare perfettamente.
Beh, al lavoro: abbiamo cambiato la posizione di alcuni componenti del sistema ed abbiamo permesso in questo modo a tutto l’impianto di respirare come si deve. Ed improvvisamente com’è arrivato il ronzio è anche sparito. Al suo posto: un piacevole sollievo.

This is the reason why we have come to the Munich High End. Not the setup, not the beer at Andechs, not the grappa or the caffe. But the most important HiFi Show in the world.
Let’s rock! Now starts the party, the music: the hard work was in the days before, transporting and setting up all the components. Now it is time to blow our horns.
We had 4 gorgeous days, we had old customers and new customers coming, old friends and new friends appearing on our doors.
People came and stayed. For longer time, some people stayed there for hours and hours in our booth other went and came back again several times just to enjoy ever single note playing on our system.
We received compliments from lot of people, and we were proud of what we did… and the biggest prize was, after the show, to find in lot of online magazines the praise of the quality of our room: Mono and Stereo, Audio Activity, Sempre Audio, Fair Audio, Remusic, Hi-Fi Voice. Just to name some of them. Lot of positive feedback is as well the good contact with potential new customers.
Well. We say thank You to all the visitors of our rooms, we are already looking forward for the next Munich High End. We will have an hard bone to chew: we have to do better. And believe me, we already know some points where we might improve ;-)

Die Messe ist der Grund, warum wir hier in München ausgestellt haben. Nicht die Aufstellung, nicht das Bier in Andechs, die Grappa oder der Cappuccino. Aber der wichtigste HiFi Show in der Welt.
Lass es abgehen! Jetzt fängt die Party an, die Musik: das harte Brot waren die Tage zuvor, transportieren, aufstellen, feinjustieren. Jetzt ist Zeit zum Spielen.
Wir hatten 4 großartige Tage! Alte und neue Kunden sind vorbeigekommen, alte und heue Freunde sind an unsere Tür erschienen.
Leute kamen und blieben. Einige blieben länger, einige blieben Stundenlang und wollten auch nach Messeschluss nicht mehr ausgehen. Einige kamen mehrmals, einfach um jeden Klang und Musik unseres systems.
Viele Leute haben Komplimente gemacht, wir waren auch sehr stolz auf dem Ergebnis, was wir erzielt haben. Das höchste Kompliment war, nach der Messe, in mehreren Online Zeitschriften, unseres system positiv angepriesen zu lesen: Mono and Stereo, Audio Activity, Sempre Audio, Fair Audio, Remusic, Hi-Fi Voice. Nur um einige davon zu nennen. Viele positive Rückmeldungen und ein hervorragendes Kontakt auch mit potenziellen neuen Kunden.
Wir bedanken uns bei allen Besuchern unseres Raumes, und wir freuen uns schon auf die nächste München High End. Es wird ein harter Brocken werden: wir wollen besser machen. Und wir haben schon einige Punkte im Auge, die wir verbessern können ;-)

Questo è il motivo che ci ha portato a partecipare al Monaco High End. Non la preparazione, non la birra ad Andechs, non la grappa o il caffe. Ma il fatto che il Monaco High End è la fiera più importante del mondo dell’hifi.
E vai con la musica! Ora inizia la festa, la musica: il lavoro duro è alle spalle, fatto nei giorni passati, trasportare, preparare. Ora è il momento di dare fiato alle trombe, in senso reale e figurato!
Sono stati quattro giorni spettacolari, sono venuti vecchi e nuovi clienti, vecchi e nuovi amici sono apparsi alle nostre porte.
La gente è venuta ed è rimasta. Alcuni a lungo, altri sono rimasti per ore ed ore nella nostra stanza, altri ancora sono ritornati più e più volte, anche semplicemente per sentire ogni nota del nostro sistema.
Abbiamo ricevuto complimenti da tanta gente. E noi eravamo soddisfatti di quanto abbiamo realizzato. Il premio più grosso è stato ritrovarci in più di qualche rivista online e scoprire che avevano elogiato la qualità del nostro lavoro: Mono and Stereo, Audio Activity, Sempre Audio, Fair Audio, Remusic, Hi-Fi Voice. Giusto per nominarne alcune. Tantissimo riscontro positivo e tanto contatto con potenziali nuovi clienti.
A questo punto non ci resta che ringraziare tutti quelli che hanno visitato la nostra stanza. Abbiamo già iniziato a prepararci mentalmente alla fiera dell’anno prossimo, sarà dura perché vogliamo fare meglio di quanto abbiamo fatto quest’anno e credetemi, abbiamo già alcuni punti in mente su come migliorare ;-)
